Last week, Evan compiled a list of mission-critical apps for his Windows XP install.  While I am not wiping my Mac anytime soon, I thought it would be a good idea to put together a list of applications that I consider crucial for the Mac.

So I finally decided to get my slow copy of Vista off my laptop and replace it with a clean install of XP. Now it’s time to put some applications back on my computer. Read on to find out what apps I can’t live without.

I can’t remember the last time I had a video file that actually played correctly in Windows Media Player. That’s the reason I turned to VLC player, which will play pretty much anything you can throw at it right out of the box. If you want to find out more, read on after the jump.
