Asus Eee PC 1000HE long-term review

The Asus Eee PC 1000HE was very well-received when it first came out.  However, most reviewers only get to spend a few weeks with a device.  That is just barely enough time to become accustomed to a device.
I have spent the past two months using the Eee PC 1000HE almost every day.  Now, I am finally ready to report my findings.

Always Innovating Touch Book = Compaq TC1000 reborn

The Always Innovating Touch Book has many people in the technology business excited, including us.  However, the idea of a tablet that docks onto a keyboard is not as groundbreaking as it first seems.  Case in point, I present you the Compaq TC1000 Tablet PC and its successor the HP Compaq TC1100.

Around a year ago, Asus created the soon to be dubbed “netbook” market with its diminutive Eee PC.  The Eee was a surprise hit and spawned many imitators.  Pretty soon, it seemed like everyone and their mother had a subnotebook device in their product pipeline.  Some of those products have been hits, while others have been misses.  With all these new models from the likes of HP, MSI, Acer and soon to be joined by Dell and Lenovo, is there really a market for all these devices?  Or is this …

As widely expected, Dell has finally announced the new E series line of Latitude corporate laptops to replace the previous D series. The Latitude line is popular among large business and colleges, so this could the next computer for many a college student or businessman. The new E series looks much nicer and less dull than the outgoing D series.

Dell just recently announced their Studio Hybrid desktop, a small form factor computer along the same lines as the Mac Mini, Asus Eee Box, or HP Slimline.  The Studio Hybrid is being touted for being small, fashionable, and eco-friendly (there is even an option to have the case made out of bamboo).  However, Dell’s new creation looks to me like an old creation revisited.  Read the similarities between the defunct WebPC and the new Studio Hybrid after the jump.
