Mozilla Firefox 3.5 is now available
Finally available today is the final version of Mozilla Firefox 3.5. As you may know, we here at JPT are big fans of Firefox. However recent versions have seemed to lag behind fresher versions from Apple’s Safari and Google’s Chrome camps. This latest version catches up and more.
Key new features in Firefox 3.5 include:
- TraceMonkey JavaScript engine – TraceMonkey will supposedly be 20 to 30x faster than the old JavaScript engine. This will be particularly important when it comes to running web applications or visiting AJAX sites.
- Private Browsing Mode – aka “porn mode”, this setting hides your tracks online.
- Tear-away tabs – now you can easily drag tabs into a new window
- Geo-location – Firefox now knows where you are, making it easier to search for restaurants, stores, or post offices around you.
- Undo closed window, selective session restore, greater web standards support, redesigned tab bar and more…
Simply put, Firefox 3.5 is definitely a worthwhile upgrade. Go grab it today.
