NatsuLion – Twitter client for Mac OS X

natsulion Last time, when we explained Twitter, we mentioned two popular desktop applications for Twitter: TweetDeck and twhirl.  NatsuLion is a Twitter application made just for Mac OS X, and it has some advantages over the other two.

The main issue with both TweetDeck and twhirl is that they require Adobe AIR, so in some ways they are just glorified webapps.  Also some people just really don’t like putting Adobe programs on their computer if they can avoid it, thus the popularity of Foxit Reader.

NatsuLion addresses this by providing a real desktop Twitter application for Mac OS X users.  The interface is dead simple to use, reminiscent of an IM program.  I would say that TweetDeck can be a little intimidating for the first-time Twitter user, while NatsuLion is designed with a low learning curve, so the Twitter newbie will feel comfortable right away.

Like any good OS X app, NatsuLion is full Cocoa goodness and integrates with services like Growl.  So if you are a Twitter user and have a Mac, give NatsuLion a try.  You might just like it better than whatever you are using now.
