Now that Luofei and I use Twitter to spread the JPT love we need a way to update it from our matching iPod Touch’s. Apparently the top two free iPod apps for twitter are Twitterific and Twitterfon, read on to find out which one I’m keeping and which one I’m deleting.

As soon as I tried Twitterfon, after using Twitterific i was instantly won over. Twitterific (seen left) is not as straight forward to use as Twitterfon (seen right) is. Even though this is not that big of a deal, I think Twitterfon just looks a lot nicer than Twitterific, even though Twitterific is able to show more information on the screen at once. I really like how Twitterfon shows the number of tweets since you last looked, and it allows you to view replies. Twitterfon also allows you to search by location, which is a really cool feature…btw there are some weirdoes within 5 miles of me. Twitterfon also shows trends. Search also allowed me to find the user than snatched up the name “luofei” and if I could understand any of his Chinese twitter updates I’m sure they would be pretty awesome because his picture is. I think that I’ve ranted long enough, Twitterfon is much better than Twitterific, but there is a $10 premium version of Twitterific, but why pay when Twitterfon is free.
