Why I Hate Used Video Game Stores
It’s no secret that I dislike those stores that buy people’s old video games for 25-50% the value and then sell them for 80-95% of the price of the new game. They make several hundred percent profit. Read on to find out more, and see some evidence for my disdain.

As you can see on the right, these companies charge ridiculous prices. If you walked into a GameStop and they only had used versions of Call of Duty: World at War, you would be paying 10% more than you would for a brand new copy, it’s ridiculous. I’ve often found brand new games at Target cheaper than the used versions at GameStop. It just goes to show you that being an uniformed shopper is expensive these days.

Im an employee at gamestop. The reason for the price difference is this week they lowered the price on the COD:WaW to 49.99. It will go back up to its original price 59.99 at the end of the week.
Thanks for the explanation Greg, but I still feel that these stores greatly overcharge on used games. This doesn’t stop me from shopping there, only because they have the largest selection.
