Here is a live rundown of all the announcements Apple is making today:

• HD shows on iTunes for $2.99 each
• NBC is coming back to iTunes
• iTunes 8 with new Genius function and Grid View, available today
• Only one model of iPod classic: 120GB for $249
• New iPod nano, looks like the spy shots.  Genius ability built-in to the iPod.  Accelerometer to detect portrait or landscape modes and shake to shuffle.  9 colors (silver, blue, green, orange, pink, purple, red, yellow, black).  8GB for $149 available today and 16GB for $199 available by this weekend.  24 hour battery life for music, 4 hours for video.

• Updated iPod touch: volume control buttons on the side, built-in speaker, thinner stainless-steel case, Genius function, built-in Nike+.  36 hour battery life for music, 6 hours for video.  8GB for $229, 16GB for $299, 32BG for $399 all available today.
• iPhone firmware 2.1 aims to fix many of the bugs people have been experiencing with the 2.0 firmware

Well that seems to be about it for today.  Oh wait, this just in: Jack Johnson is the #1 male artist on iTunes.  There must be a lot of bros out there.  We’ll be back later to recap all the news from today, along with press photos.

A look at the Apple Online Store shows that the iPod shuffle was also in on today’s action.  It recieved a price cut: 1GB for $49 and 2GB for $69.  Also, it seems the shuffle also recieved a refresh of its colors; it is now available in silver, green, blue, pink, and red.
