portableappsPortableApps lets you put some of the best programs out there on your USB key, letting you have access to your custom settings on any computer. Read on to find out more.

Some of the compatible programs include Firefox, OpenOffice, GIMP, VLC, and Pidgin. The program inserts its own start menu into the system trey. Best of all is that PortableApps makes no changes to the host computer. Now instead of lugging around your laptop because you need to edit some vital document, you can just carry your USB key with OpenOffice and the file and you’re set.
