AppTrap – streamline uninstalls on Macs

Most people will tell you that to uninstall a program on a Mac, all you have to do is drag it to the Trash.  While this is mostly true, just doing this will still leave stray system files floating around on your hard drive.  AppDelete used to be a must in my arsenal of crucial Mac programs; it would search out the system files and delete them along with the program.  But ever since the latest version became donationware, I have been looking for a replacement that costs nothing.  Well, AppTrap not only replaces AppDelete, but even further streamlines the uninstall process.  Whereas AppDelete required launching a separate program to delete stuff, AppTrap is just a System Preferences pane.  It detects when you drag a program to Trash and asks you if you want to delete the associated files.  The process is very streamlined and works as if it were kit and kaboodle with Mac OS X.
